Celebrating Student Achievements.
The University of West Alabama (UWA) Honors Day is a significant event that recognizes the accomplishments of its students across various organizations. In 2021, as the project manager for this initiative, I undertook the responsibility of leveraging social media to amplify the celebration and showcase the achievements of 485 students.
Objective: The primary objective was to create and disseminate over 80 social media graphics that highlighted the achievements of individual students within their respective organizations. Each graphic needed to be personalized, incorporating the organization’s title, logo, and the names of the honorees. The overarching goal was to foster a sense of recognition and appreciation within the university community while maximizing engagement across social media platforms.
Approach:
- Planning and Coordination: The project commenced with detailed planning and coordination. I collaborated closely with organizational leaders to gather information about the honorees and ensure accurate representation in the social media graphics.
- Design and Development: The design process involved incorporating the organization’s branding elements while maintaining a consistent visual identity across all graphics.
- Execution and Distribution: As the graphics were finalized, I oversaw their timely distribution across Facebook.
Outcome: The concerted efforts yielded significant engagement across social media platforms, with the collective interactions surpassing 400. The personalized graphics resonated with the university community, generating a sense of pride and recognition among the honorees and their peers. Furthermore, the widespread visibility of the Honors Day initiative enhanced the university’s reputation for celebrating student achievements.
